Job growth in the information technology industry slowed in May, but continued a pattern of month-over-month growth, according to TechServe Alliance.
The Alexandria-based IT industry lobbying group said the industry added 1,100 jobs in May, the 17th consecutive monthly gain in IT employment. In the last year, the IT industry has added more than 100,000 jobs. “While the rate of growth moderated last month, the long-term trajectory of IT employment remains decidedly positive,” says TechServe Alliance CEO Mark Roberts. Total IT employment reached 4,008,600 in May, after crossing over the 4 million mark for the first time ever in February.
